Yes, the zapper works great. The only thing that the more expensive zappers do is save you the labor of taping the battery. Well, some of them do more than that.

You can get a zapper as cheap as $10. Some of the ones for $169 might not be as good as they claim. For that price, you should get at least dual frequencies or programmable options. Avoid wrist straps, they are not as good.
