The mucous in the release from your enema is quite normal and is a sign that it produced results. A single enema though can only cleanse the lower portion of your bowel, so while you are following a cleansing program, it's probably a good idea to continue to use enemas regularly.

What did you use for the enema solution? One teaspoon of salt for each pint of warm filtered or bottled water at 103 degrees F at preparation time is an excellent choice.
