I don't know what those sites say about the water you use, but the written instructions my doc gave me was one full teaspoon of sea salt and one half teaspoon of soda in a pint of warm water.  I wouldn't buy the saline solution packets myself because I'm sure it's nothing different than what I mix up.  I find that if the water is even a little too warm, it is uncomfortable.  Yeah, at first I was afraid of water in my nose, but at body temperature and with the salt and soda it's not near what I expected.
