What I was trying to say in my post was that Sophie19 found that Iodine supplementation (I believe she spoke of Lugol's iodine) really helped her whack back the Candida better than anything else and freed her of some sensitivies to where she could handle some fruits and grains without symptoms. As well, the information on the website she referred to (she inserted a link) talks about how a body, when denied some grains and some fruits, and given a whole lot of meat (not to mention fat in the meat which competes with digestion of good fats that we consume), becomes acidic, nutrient deficient and weak, therefore allowing pathogens (Candida) to get even a greater foothold in the body and more allergies as a result. I have read too, that eating tons of tons of protein is taxing to your kidneys and pancreas--your pancreas was not designed to continously break down meat (think of cave man--he didn't always get meat to eat, only if there was an animal around to kill. The pancreas can get exhausted from constantly being put on to put out enzymes to digest protein. Raw fruits/veggies have their own enzymes so not much is required by your pancreas to digest them.
Personally, I have done the slabs of meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner that Sophie19 talks about and it makes me feel sick and weak. There has to be a balance between killing the Candida and nourishing the body to make it strong enough to fight the Candida and erradicate it.
Probably the best thing, and I am writing this as my own affirmation of what I want to do for my body, is to think in terms of both killing Candida and building the body (rather than taxing it) at the same time. Moderate consumption of protein, copious amounts of organic vegetables (as close to raw form as possible to retain nutrition) some fruit (not tons, but some) and some grains (again not tons, and not wheat or glutinous grants, but some like quinoa and brown rice and maybe teff cooked with some vitamin c power to kill the mold in the cooking process), some fish oils (certified free of heavy metals), some flax oils and other good oils that contain essential fatty acids. Some really good kick-ass antifungal (Sophie19 says Iodine is the ticket, and I am going to try that in addition to zapping and Colloidal Silver since I am sensitive to herbs because of their mold content), fiber (preferably nonsoluable, helps with leaky gut better than soluable fibers apparently), butyric acid (ButyrEn) and glutamine to help repair intestines, avoidance of all known allergens, some liver cleanses. Have I forgot anything? Oh yeah, some colonics/enemas and a good hypo-allergenic vitamin/mineral supplement.
