I'm having problems with one tooth. When I eat something on that side and wait about 5-10 seconds, it will give me intense pain. I went to the doc yesterday and he gave me an antibiotic. I know. Anyway, what I want know is if I should let the antibiotic clear it up or go to the dentist and let him work on it?

Does an abscess means the root is infected?
