We need to pray, and then we need to act.

I'm going to get a little political on you, but this IS the Politics Forum . I watched the NH debates on Sunday, also watched and heard all the chatter fallout after Iowa. I kept hearing, especially after Huckabee "won" Iowa on the GOP side, the media spinmeisters repeat these phrases: "Christian Right" and "evangelical Christians." I am one, except, somehow by the grace of God, my eyes were opened and now I see. lol What's scary for me, though, is the CR is now being portrayed as the bad guys. Watch this year as the media pulls out the big guns against us. Already we are being grouped with religious fundamentalist terrorist types. Be in watchful prayer as it could get ugly very soon.

OK, the CR is rootin' for Huckabee. Why? Because the CR thinks Huckabee is "one of them," "like-minded," "a man of character," "a former preacher," etc., which is EXACTLY what we said/thought/were programmed to believe about GWB (except for the preacher part). I knew the evangelicals would support Huckabee the day he announced he was running. The media just doesn't know the pulse of the GOP nor the heartbeat of the heartland of America, and once again was scratching its head wondering how Huckabee came out on top in Iowa.

Now, you've got to know this: the "social conservative" part of the GOP is dominated and driven by homeschoolers. The leaders are guys like Mike Farris, above. Let me tell you from personal experience, homeschoolers are the sweetest people in the world, but they/we are sheep. Christmas is over, school just started back up today (I'm on break for a few minutes), and now the CR is beginning to make their choices for the primaries. Homeschoolers are basically one issue voters: pro-life. So if a guy says he's pro-life, a Christian, and a conservative, he's got the attention of a homeschooler. From there they/we look to the homeschool leaders at the national or state level to find out who they endorse, and the homeschoolers all rally together and swing the primary. Savvy politicians are very well aware that the homeschoolers are activists and the swing vote in any GOP primary.

I, personally, have joined Homeschoolers For Ron Paul. My job, on a local grassroots level, is to inform my friends that I have chosen Paul over Huckabee and to get them to take a look at him. Homeschoolers are BIG into alternative health, the preservation of the Constitution, parental rights, personal freedoms, and all, so I see no reason why they couldn't be persuaded to at least go to Paul's website and poke around in there. If the homeschoolers would spend half the time shopping for candidates that they do shopping for school curricula, they could swing the GOP primary for Paul.

You Paul supporters on CZ need to be aware of all this and take it from here. As Zoe reminded us, "I am only one, but I am one."
