I have not read the Gospel of Barnabas.  I have read some of the Nag Hammadi books including the Gospel of Thomas.

Omar01, you and everyone else on the planet is an eternal spirit.  Everyone of us has that spark of the divine inside of us - if we would just look.  Spirit is not logic.  It is not "thinking."  It has nothing to do with that.  When you look within as Jesus taught, instead of looking outside of yourself for salvation, you will discover that spark, that spiritual light that Jesus talked about over and over again and which Paul and many others have tried to cover up.

You discover spirit through experiencing it, not by reading a book or through logic.  That is why Jesus said to look within, and to keep on searching until you find it.  Many of the sacred texts have good direction, but it is the individual who will make their own individual discovery.

John 4:24: "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

We are each a spirit residing in a fallible body.  We have each been created by the Creator.  We are each a child of God.
