Yep, that's right! I eat Spam!! I Love Spam!!!

When I was growing up, Spam was one of my comfort foods. My grandmother would fry it, and we would eat it right along with all sorts of wonderful fresh things that were just picked out of my grandparents garden. And I love the stuff!!!

My grandmother, bless her, always wore high heels.

Always! That's right!! Even in the garden!!!

My grandmother was never without her heels. I imagine that she had worn them so much that she was unable to wear any other sort of shoe. I can't even say that I remember ever seeing her barefoot! And in that way we are very different.

I refused to wear shoes until I was almost 3yo! I'm still barefoot most of the time!! And I also wear heels!!!

What I do very fondly recall is my grandmother's mud-caked heels that were always be the back door. Yes, these were her gardening shoes. And I have many pleasant memories of going out to the garden with my grandmother and picking fresh snap beans and real tomatoes and summer squash, and enjoying all the fruits of my grandparent's labors. My grandfather did not have an organic garden, and at one time he grew tobacco. And before he died, he planted a large number of trees to help reforest the area that they lived in North Carolina. And someday, I hope to return there for a visit and really see those trees.

My grandmother also baked the best cakes of anyone I know. And they were not made from scratch. She used a brand name yellow cake mix, and made her own chocolate frosting with Domino powdered sugar. This was the best frosting that I have ever tasted! And today, as I sit here sucking on a Sugar cube, I am once again reminded that love is the most powerful ingredient there is. LOL (O

*And for the record, I will no longer seek answers to the worlds greatest mysteries by reading spam emails!!!
