ever since i allowed an old stray cat to take up here i've had problems off and on... with scabies... every time i go out to feed it... if it rubs against my legs... then that is usually how i always get them... around my ankles... and i've never had anything itch so bad in my life...

i tried the 5% permethrin... and it works... the only thing is that it is an insecticide and is absorbed into your body through the skin... which can't be a healthy remedy... but what i found that works even more effectively... and a lot less bother... is "HOT" water... as hot as you can stand it... not so hot as to blister yourself... but it must be hot enough to kill the scabies... and since they are always near the surface it really doesn't take much... so... you might have to play around a bit to get the hang of it... but i have found it most affective...

i use a small sauce pan to heat the water... not to boiling mind you... but as hot as i can stand to hold it with my hands... then dip a wash rag in... pull it out and fan it about a bit to cool it down some... very much like a barbers does for the victim he has shaved... lol... ;-)... then apply it to the infected area and hold it there for awhile... it works everytime... but if you want to be absolutely sure to get the little buggers... try taking a piece of gause/cloth soaked with peroxide... and scrub the infected areas really hard... if it is indeed scabies you'll see 'a bright white welp' spring up where ever they happen to be... (the result of the peroxide getting into the hole with them)... anyhow... do that and then apply the hot water and you won't have to worry about them any more... but... that's not to say you won't get them again... i don't know where they come from... or how they breed... or nothing about them... other than they itch like hell... but i do know how to get rid of them... and i do my best not to let the cat rub up against me... i think pets are probably the main way that they are spread...

so... best of luck to you... but be careful not to scald yourself... it doesn't have to be that hot... ok...???
