The beauty of the Freshlife sprouter is that there
is a pump and so it rinses the sprouts like once
an hour. It pumps up water and "showers" the sprouts.
Yep, once a day, each morning, I change the water
in the reservoir and rinse it out since there can
be a bit of a slimy coating which I clean so the
water which will be used for rinsing for the day
is nice. I never used any citricide or anything.
I have used some kelp powder but that was with my
wheatgrass experiments. For the most part, it was
so simple, just put the seed in the tray, fill up
the reservoir with water and plug it in. Harvest
as you go and put leftovers in the fridge. I do
like it but until I am juicing majorly again, I
do not use the volume of sprouts this sweet sprouter
can provide.
The sprouter is made of some kind of plastic like
a polycarbonate or lexan. Not glass. You could
probably email or call the company's toll-free phone
number and ask~~

The biggest disappointment for me was the idea
of stacking them and growing more than one tray
at a time. It just is not the optimal way so no
need to waste your bucks on the extra sprout
barrel.
Let us know how it goes for you if you decide to
go for it.
best wishes,
Zoe
