Ah, memories. That exquisite quatrain from the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam was a favorite of mine. My Grandfather gave me a beautiful white leather and gold embossed book of the Rubaiyat when I was a teenager. Later it was destroyed in a flood and it broke my heart to lose that book. Someday I want to find another copy that is as elegant as the one I lost. I used to find wonderful old books in used book shops, but lately most are full of tired paperback romance novels.
