We gave up Christmas years ago - It's such a relief. We just relax - stay away from the malls and enjoy the quiet on Xmas day - find a nice restaurant and a movie or just go for a hike in the forest with all the real trees! lol ....and the runup to the event is hardly even noticed anymore. On Christmas night we always say - hurray! it's over for another year!

Try it - you'll like it....
