Try pressing the 'Windows Key' and the 'R' key on the keyboard at the same time.
In the dialog box that pops up, type 'sndvol32' and press the 'Enter' key.
then make sure all your volumes are turned all the way up, and all the mute boxes are empty, and all the Left/Right bars are centered.
Then click 'options'.
then click 'properties'.
Type for me all the options given for 'mixer device:' when 'adjust volume for' is set to 'playback'. I'm assuming you're using Windows XP.
If not, you'll have to inuit your way around. I'd like to know what mixer device you're currently set to as your default. You can always set it to another device, and set it as your default & reboot, but return it to your initial device setting when you're done testing.
The name of your mixer device may give us clues as to what drivers you need.
