ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid)is a naturally occuring substance found in foods. It does not come from the sea thus it doesnt contain mercury. It is not a synthetic chemical like dmsa or dmps. It does cross the BBB (blood brain barrier). Exactly how effective it is debateable.
