I agree that there are people who speak the truth, but what happens if it's only partially the truth? what if their understanding (or interpretation) is incorrect? it is no longer the truth and if that is the case, then our own beliefs are lies. Shouldn't we present the truth with evidence?

christians STRIVE to live a grace filled life (and I hope this is the case). why do we do that, because Jesus Christ was sent to pay for our sins. God showed us grace and as our response to that we must show grace for all. I feel that people are "ok" with living a sinful life because we are not accountable (in this life) to that sin. For example, people speed on the highways and we (i'm guilty) don't bother because we are taking the risk of not getting caught. Aren't we all guily of breaking God's law of the 10 commandments (i'm including myself)? When we meet God we will have to account for all transgressions of God's law, but the beauty of this is that Jesus paid for our fine. He did the jail time for us. And this is the only reason we can present ourselves to Him. We take sin too lightly (such as lying) and we rate these sins in severity (murder being worse than lying), but God sees all these sins with equal weight.

God only cares about the condition of your heart. He doesn't care about our outward appearance. The Bible is clear about sin and it is clear about how He redeemed our impure hearts. He is also clear about how to live a life that is pleasing to Him. These ideas are justification and santification.

As for Pat Robertson, no idea who he is and same goes for Sylvia Brown. I would encourage everyone who reads books about spirituality to discover where these authors are getting their information. A scientist does not make blind assumptions about theories. They use a very exacting method of proving their theories.
