However, my counter had also stopped a few minutes before midnight and I had to do a quick work around through a back channel. Ahem.

The final at one point was $17,980,156.71, but then they backed it off by about 30,000 to around $17,950,000.  Maybe somebody took out 30K and made a run to the all night liquor store for celebration materials

Actually, they probably had a hard time keeping an accurate tally the way it poured in at the end.

Seems to me that we started the day at around 11.6 million if I recall correctly.

As of this post, they are on a new day of course, and the total at 12:38 CST is $18,118,662.03

It was a great day and should be the all time record, both on and offline.

Around 57,500  or so donations today, about 25,000 of which were first time donors.

(Ah crap, posted as the wrong ID again.  I was just in my own forum and saw that I had a new message and did not log out and back in as DQ.   Grrr!  To make matters worse, I just turned another year older at midnight too.  I guess I can plead senility . . . .)
