I too was foolishly trying to do the low carb thing! While doing it for about 4 months, I only lost about 20 pounds and nearly my total health. I suffered a "silent" heart attack. I heard about ER4YT on the 4th of July and it was a very liberating experience for me.

While the thought of never eating red meat again didn't initially appeal to me, I was happy knowing there was an actual list available that spelled it out for me.

While in the Navy about 13 years ago, I was over weight and was told to go on the cabbage soup diet. About 70 - 80% of that diet is AVOID for Type A. I gained 10 pounds and lost a close friend that absolutely swore I had to be a no good liar. I swear that is the one thing that I sure could have done without.

First, get your books. Yes, there are more than one, order them used through Amazon.com. Save $$. Read, Read Read. Understand and then Read it again.

I would encourage you to visit Dr. D'Adamo's web site and look for his doctor database and seek out a professional in your area. They can fine tune the diet for you. I started seeing such a doctor recently and I know it was the right thing for me to do.

I have avoided the avoids sine the 6th of July when I picked up a copy of Type A Food, Beverage and Supplements Lists. This isn't the recommended course of action and it's generally thought it's the quickest path to failure. I simply never looked back. I am cool with having a list of avoids. My doctor has given me the green light on tomatos, however, and while I don't know if all Type A can or cannot eat them, I'm sure happy to have them back.

Basically, I think you made the right choice by giving up Atkins and turning this direction. Best of Luck to you!
