All sorts of diseases are in animal feces and bird droppings. The post about taping off the intake vent was a good one. Cleaning the air is good too - even if you have to use something like Oust air sanitizer. Do whatever you have to to get them to get rid of the unit or to have the unit and droppings cleaned professionally.
