Problem is the medical community doesn't know HOW to advise people to make these changes! Most have had no training in nutrition and rely on the government-endorced food pyramid which is not an ideal diet. Most MD's are not well-versed in appropriate exercise protocols...and as a psychologist, I can tell you that they know diddly squat about proper stress management and routinely pass out prescriptions for valium, xanax, etc. to slap a bandaid on stress!!! Then again, most allopathic physicians will have you in and out of their office in 15-20 minutes, do not take a detailed life-style inventory, and have no time to educate patients in these areas!!!
