Just going by some of the tips I've learned here and there, the ideal in this instance is to use good quality oil, and cold-pressed usually is accepted as good quality. But, if you can't get it, you can't get it. Another tip is - the Creator has larded this planet with ample alternatives....now, if we only had the knowledge to know what the appropriate alternative is in this case :(
As such you might try looking for a reasonable substitute....like, maybe a lower grade Castor Oil...or maybe even a different oil all together...but which one?. The question then becomes - what is a reasonable substitute to cold-pressed Castor Oil? I do not know the answer to this question, and this has lead me to wonder - why is it that this oil fomentation method specifically calls for Castor Oil in the first place? Is it because of specific natural ingredients and compounds found in Castor Oil? I did some quick checking around and see that Castor Oil is a vegetable oil, from the "castor bean", made up in large part of "saturated fats" and has a fairly high boiling point and, apparently, naturally contains a toxin that is removed by normal "cold-pressed filtration methods"......? (shrug) Are you able to get any kind of Castor Oil where you are? If you are hoping to treat an existing condition, I can appreciate how this prospect is complicated if you then must go about experimenting with other unknown variables, like a less-than-ideal oil grade......but in a way, this really is what life is usually made up of. Even when you can find an oil with a lable that indicates "top grade, world's-best, pure, cold-pressed castor oil", one never really knows that this is true, so either way, until you try something, you really don't know what your getting into , right?
Good luck!
