I understand the WAY that you're feeling. I may or may not have had exactly the same experiences you've had, but I understand first hand what a low self-esteem from a broken heart is like (demoralizing).
The first thing to do is believe in yourself. Get to know who you are (the kind of person you really are...profound in heart and mind, progressive (you insist on things being BETTER, the status quo is not good enough for you), you are just/fair, you like the objective truth, you are conscientious, and you are a "thinker". If these things were not true, you would not be able to "feel" hurt the way you are "feeling" it.
The second part of KNOWING who you are is actually BEing who you are. Being who you are will make you whole. By being who you REALLY are, you will develop a better self-esteem, you will have confidence in yourself (even to the point of arrogance, so be careful and remember your true humility). You will appreciate being the kind of person you are and understand that the only people that are worth trusting are the one's who can also appreciate you being who you are.
Shallow people always try to find a way to work out a scheme of getting something out of the other person (especially sincere, conscientious people like you) and will try to find ways of belittling and ridiculing your honesty so that you will feel shame, guilt, humiliation and intimidation so they can manipulate you and use you. They also resent sincerity because it makes them look bad and they need to redeem their conscience by criticizing you. They will be very prudish in order to impose many meaningless and impractical "rules" in order that you become submissive to their will.
Believe in yourself, BE yourself (only shallow people will resent that, but truly decent people will appreciate that).
