Oh boy...I can so relate to your plight because I was in pretty much the same predicament maybe about 4 years ago. I'm not sure that most people can actually understand the desparation one get into once they are in a situation whereby time is of the essense. Every attack that an MS patient has, has the potential to render the individual helpless with permanent damage. Easy for someone to say, do this, or do that.....it is very important to do something and to do it before the next questionable attack happens. I know this because I too have MS. I was going downhill about 5 years ago and knew that I must find something to halt or at least slow the progress. I was very sure that I did not want to take any of those toxic MS injectables. Well I love that you are into doing research for your mom. I am so very thankful that I have internet access cuz I stumbled upon the work of Dr. Bihari in NY who had some theories about how perhaps all auto immune disorders may just be low endorphin production and went about experimenting with a low dose of Naltrexone. I am trying to make this long story as short as I can and still give you the gist of it. I have been on this very low 4.5mg dose of Naltrexone for the past, almost 4 years now and consider it a miracle in my life really. It has just about halted the progress of my MS in that time and I'm sure you will know that in itself is a miracle. I know that people don't like to hear that word but what else would you call thinking that you would one day descend into a kind of hell only to find something that may stop that from happening. Well to answer what you are probably asking yourself, why isn't this standard treatment for MS? Well, it's as simple as the fact that there is no patent available on a new use of an old out of patent drug...simple as that. I could go on and on but all you need to do is research as you have been for ldninfo.org and if you want to e-mail me at wkendz32@hotmail.com, please feel free too. You must know that I am passionate about sharing this info with anyone that can benefit. Good luck to you and Godbless...you are a wonderful son to try and help your mom and I don't blame you for being so very mad at the system...{{{hugs}}}. JoyceF
