About 4 years ago I used an NPD family member's computer for a couple of days while I stayed there for a visit. I could tell something was weird about the way they treated me after that, and even felt they were able to read my email since I picked up dozens of tiny clues. But since my friends assured me there was no way they could tap into my mail without my knowing, I assumed they were psychic!!......or something.....

A year ago I was able to piece enough info together to realize that said family member was using a keytracer - so 'they' had access to my bank account and all email accounts for 3 years.
Sounds insignificant to most people, but trying to heal from the insanity I grew up with, I was using email to work through PTSD, hidden abuse, medical problems, new sane relationships, etc - and never wanted to share any of that with them. So the sense of violation was massive to me.

The good news was, that this pushed me toward actually accepting that they could and would never be what I wanted them to be, that they were crippled, and once I was able to move beyond the intellectual acceptance into the emotional acceptance of that - I calmed down.

I found the courage to ask them if my suspicions were true and knew they would never admit it, knew verbatim what they would say in reply! (yep I was right on) but since I held no emotional need to have them respect me at that point, I scarcely reacted emotionally at all and have found greater calm since that.

Hmmm.... was just going to warn people about keytracer and got carried away.

My relationships with them have changed...
