I know the "hits" in the forum matter a great deal to them... otherwise it would not be a constant mention... it would not spawn self ego stroking, aggrandizing threads... perhaps it helps comfort their insecurity as PBuddy stated, and perhaps it shores up their fragile, easily bruised egos. Oops!... here it comes :-)

Honestly, in what other forum does this type of self-aggrandizing "we are the greatest" behavior occur?

It still floors me that this braggart behavior continues incessantly... UNBELIEVABLE and very revealing... shakes head.

Those that have been around, all are very much aware that a good many, perhaps a majority of those "hits" were off topic posts and threads having little more than entertainment value, many people reading them to watch or participate in the sitcom\comedy "show" and little more. Another good bunch of the posts there came from the debate forum threads that were moved over to the Iodine supplementation forum when it was created... a merging of two forums, perhaps 40 to 50 pages; I do not keep count, but I am sure one or more of them has and can accurately correct me.

If the whole forum was always on topic, and was not merged, they would not be anywhere close to where they are now... I mention this to put their "hits" in perspective for those that have not been around to wittiness the forums "real" history.

I have several problems with the iodine protocol...

1. to do high dosing of iodine supplementation correctly, and "safely" (I question this) it DOES require medical supervision. Especially if one is lacking in proper and complete nutrition.

2. It requires a strong complement of additional supplementation along with its minimum dosing suggestion of 50mg a day:

* Vitamin C - 3,000 mg per day (more may be necessary to detox bromide).
* 300-600 mg magnesium oxide or comparable magnesium supplement.
* 200 mcg selenium.
* 500 mg niacin twice a day. (NOT niacinamide) Start lower to avoid flush.
* 200 mg Vitamin B2 twice a day.
* A comprehensive vitamin and nutrition program.

The above from:

3. Salt loading for "bromide" detox "symptoms" which, along with the iodine further stresses the body, specifically the kidneys.

4. Iodine, like colloidal silver "kills" bacteria... all bacteria. We, for a lack of a better choice of words, exist BECAUSE OF bacteria, why do we want to "kill" bacteria?

5. People NEED to be thoroughly cleansed and have open elimination channels in order to apparently get the best benefit at the lowest physical\emotional\mental cost, i.e. alleged "detox symptoms".

I have several more issues with the supplementation that can be gleaned from my past posts and a few I have not mentioned and may at some point.

That people are finding some relatively quick relief from vision issues, fibrocystic breasts, and thyroid problems, among others, means little to me having been there, done that, paid a price; pharmaceuticals, chemotherapy, and surgeries do the same thing... except for the chemotherapy, I have been there, done that too.

Disclaimer...

Of course the above is my opinion, based upon my experiences and in no way should influence anyone to take, or not take, iodine in a form other than plant based in high doses for any ailment real or imagined.
