Thank you so much Sunshinered! I just replaced my paragard after 6 years with the mirena(Nov 16). I've had spotting since it was inserted but was advised by the doctor that spotting may happen. I was really getting worried by reading all of the posts but it's like anything else...there's always pros and cons. I decided to get the mirena because I was having horrible menstrual cycles with the paragard but really enjoyed the comfort of having a birth control method that remained in place. I do have a couple of questions for you- How long have you had it? Did you spot at all? Did you experience any other side effects other that the ones you mentioned? Once again...thanks so much for sharing a postive note about the mirena.
