Does the body absorb tumeric better if added to the warm water for a tea?

I'm taking 1/2 tsp. tumeric with 1 TBSP of mayo. I eat it on a gluten free cracker. I do this everytime I get a headache. I take it every 2 hours on days when I have a migraine. I can knock a really bad migraine down enough to function. I love this stuff.
