Well...after the trouble I experienced while I had mirena I honestly thought that I would get better reasonably quickly after removal. It is now 10 weeks after removal and my life is horrible. I still have acne, I have not been able to lose any of the 20kg I gained in the 3 months mirena was in, I am still tired all the time, I still have stomach cramps and headaches, and I'm still very depressed. And as my joint pain started to become worse I took the advice of 'chickensoup' and got some tests done. I have just found out that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and possible Lupus. The Lupus test has not come back as yet but I am showing alot of the symptoms. I don't honestly know if these have any connection to mirena, but considering the joint pain only started while I had mirena in, I have to question if there is indeed some kind of link.

To anyone wondering whether they should try mirena as a form of birth control or to help with heavy bleeding, please think twice, then think again before going ahead with it. Having mirena is probably the worst thing I have ever done in my entire life.
