I'm glad you found a treatment that works for you and keeps things under control. I really believe shaving the head helps since it allows the area to be better cleansed of bacteria with a anti-bacterial solution. Also, as the hair grows the follicle is more likely to collect contaminants and once again encourage bacteria growth which leads to recurring infection.
