Trauma

Thank you for this question about your weight and the root cause of the problem.

There are a few ways we could look at this, but at the end of the day, I think you will find that it comes down to belief systems. A lot of people live their lives feeling there is not enough, money, food, love, life, etc.

But in reality you are made of the life force from, which all these other things are created. If we have to look at the World as a whole; quite often the western world is quite wasteful with food, while the people in Africa find there is a shortage: It is all about balance and distribution of resources not about shortage.

The same with your own body, you may have a belief system, that there is not enough and at the same time be eating too much to build up reserves against the day of a shortage.

What I would suggest to help with this process is to eat with awareness. Pay attention to what you are eating and be aware of your feeling. Do you feel hungry? Do you feel blotted? Are you happy with your body? Becoming conscious of these questions and others you may think of, that can help to check that we are receiving the right signals from the body.

Quite a lot of people eat when in actual fact they are thirsty and would really like to drink some water. But their body is interpreting the message the same as for food. Pay attention to the body, check your feelings and check your emotions and ask do you really want to eat at this point, or wait for another hour until you are hungry and will enjoy the food more.

Do you pay attention to what you eat? I.e. do you savour the flavours and the textures of the food? Do you chew your food properly paying attention to how you feel as you eat it? Are you eating what your body is asking for? It is also best to eat early in the day and late afternoon but not so much in the evening before bed time.

Small changes can make all the difference: Reduce your portion size by 10% or eat off a smaller plate. Buy mainly foods with 3% or less saturated fats. Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables with each meal.

Get lots of exercise, go for walks three times a week and do new things, which help you to feel good and full of life.

Only you can make the difference by becoming aware and conscious of what you are eating and asking will this help to achieve the goal you have set yourself to have a happy, healthy, balance body and lifestyle.

Thank you for asking this question.
