# words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another

# aspersion: an abusive attack on a person's character or good name

# defame: charge falsely or with malicious intent; attack the good name and reputation of someone; "The journalists have defamed me!" "The article in the paper sullied my reputation"

What does a troll do? They seek to damage another, both personal and through defamation either of a protocol or a person. It seems to be that S is doing both.

If I was at work and she started to say the same things about me, she would be in serious trouble. In real life, this is called slander. The intent to do harm.

By not stopping her ascertains or attacks, it now falls in the category of harrassment, or even stalking. (Yes, you can stalk on a forum).

She is no longer attacking the protocol, she is attacking actual people. Virtual or not. She is accusing them of doing something in which she has no proof, and is making a very public ascertion of the same.

Should she have done this to a site in which there is a livelyhood, such as Barefoot or Humaworm, she might actually be in legal trouble. However, there is no livelyhood issue at the VWT forum.

This is a very real issue. A personal attack on the internet, might one day become grounds for real life slander and defamation lawsuits. A simple lawful missive to the Webmaster would reveal the posters personal information.

I think that the day has come that people should be quite careful about what they say on the internet. It is not as anonymous as some believe.

There is a big difference between shouting matches and saying screw you to someone, but to make exacting statements about one's integrity is not kosher. You may dislike someone, but you do not start making up unfounded accusations.

I suspect that this person, whoever she is, is not that savvy in a sense of real world business and unclear on what is acceptable behavior.

This is definitely trollish due to the extreme volume of the attacks. The unending attacks. I for one would expect the Webmaster to make some decision on this basis.

If you are going to argue protocol, and someone's view of the protocol, that is one thing. Anything else is walking a very fine line.

That's all I have to say on this subject.
