I don't know the answer to that question. You might check out the link regarding research with Banaba tea. I don't remember any contraindictions except to not consume too much tea in a day, it might lower your blood Sugar too much - that being more than 6 cups.

I think it would be safe, as it's a lot like green tea, but it's better to check.
