Toxnomore: It seems that religion is about going through some person place or thing in order to find.
A.A.Big Book and other good books say seek and you shall find and if any seeking is going to be done it has to start within ones self. No one should even tell another they are alcoholic the whole world could know it and it would not make one dam bit of difference until the alcoholic them self knows it. Anyone can admits it to others yet, but to their innermost self, first? The message in an uninterpreted Big Book is greater than anyones best experience here. Yours, mine or anyone else's.
The experience strength and hope come from the Big Book and is in the WE of the program not the we from the fellowship.
It is impossible to be true to thy self when looking for it in others.
It is impossible to join A.A. if you are following others, it looks like one joined when they are really just following - following something sounds like religion doesn't it.
