my main question is what would happen if i just drilled out both the cerec and the composite and just replace with nothing leaving the holes there?

----------

Hi, I'm going through Amalgam replacement at this moment. I just asked my dentist on Friday nearly the same question. But in my case I was wondering why I had to have temporary fillings put in and then taken out while waiting for my lab created inlays. Thought maybe we could just skip that part, it might be better for my body.

They said my teeth could start shifting and moving position if I didn't do it. I'm sure it also relates to the bite. And of course how we eat and chew food. Maybe you might even chew differently to compensate which could affect the jaw. I'm not sure but maybe the enamel may wear differently also. If these are molars - they take a lot of force when chewing, you might be at risk one day for your tooth to crack if it isn't strong enough to handle this kind of pressure over a number of years. This could be made worse if you grind your teeth... just thoughts to ponder. It's such a nightmare, isn't it?

Are you seeing a metal-free dentist? Those will be the ones most knowledgeable about the replacement materials. Optimally, your dentist should have expert knowledge of the composition of materials in the fillings he chooses for you. And he/she should know that not "one size fits all". I was muscle tested for everything first - several different composite materials, inlays, glue, etc. Maybe you can get tested in a bit and see if these new materials in your mouth are agreeable to your body.

Many blessings, Flower
