Perhaps I inferred the wrong thing but my impression from Wombat's comment was that she desires some sort of accolade for her time and effort.

Personally, whenever I spend any amount of time helping others its done freely and without pretense or the need for glory or pretense. Gratitude is optional too. I feel no need to share how much time I put into something or get upset if people seem ungrateful. That is entirely missing the point (particularly in the area of health), and I felt grzbear's comment was spot on.

That said, I can understand the need to express feelings, even if they may not be rational. I don't think his comment was an attempt to stop her from doing so was it? It was merely an exchange of emotion versus reason -- both of which are valid.

I really don't see your point in a top 10 list, sorry.
