Sanc, research the EC site a little more. I believe Ted recommends borax, the 20 mule team kind, not boric acid, the chemical, which he says is stronger. In large doses, it is toxic, which is why the box says Do Not Swallow. But he recommends a pinch or so per liter, or even per gallon.
