I'm just trying to figure this thing out as you guys are. I am still a big fan of leaving the lips alone as much as practically possible. I've stopped using the HA supplement and the probiotics. The HA was an interesting experiment though and it may have made a slight difference. Definately worth a try. I'm using the protopic to see if I can get a quick fix on this thing. However, my lips are a LOT better from the steps I've taken in the "My Progress" post. No pitting, bleeding, or terrible raw spots. My skin peels off in thin neat little sheets that come off almost by themselves and my skin feels much more normal. I highly recommend trying some of these tips.

I would also be wary of not trying things just because people say it's not worth it. We all may not have the exact same problem. Some things that didn't work at all for some may work for us. But use your judgement. Protopic has not been a negative experience for me at all. I've been using it for three weeks, and there is nothing too bad about it. It's not helping as much as I'd like yet, but I'm going to give it a good sporting try.
