Here is some history I am familiar with. It is relevant to the notion put forth that W somehow has something on the legion of usurpers of the Constitution that came long before the better part of him ran down his daddy's crooked leg. 1 is obviously not a literal Constitutional issue, but it is certainly an issue within the spirit of people who like to think of themselves as living in a land of the free, living within the spirit of a legitimate & lawful Constitution. It is put here as a reference. However, it should not be lost on anyone avidly seeking to become familiar with relevant history that 1606 marked a significant period in time; when a monarch thought itself divnine enough to land upon an already inhabited continent, decalre it "mine", and immediately commence with divvying up the spoils among it's noble partners, family & friends in crime. What began in 1606 in Virginia is no different than somebody today, 2007, landing in Virginia for the first time, or New York, or Nova Scotia, or Iraq, or Palestine, or Ethiopia, gazing over the millions of existing natives, planting a flag inspite of them and declaring "mine!, you native people's must now clear out, the Crown says so, or else!".
Some obvious trends seen which the casual observer may not notice: 2 years from the ink drying on the Bill of Rights to the First Bank of the United States; 2 years from the passage of the original 13th, the failure of the charter to be renewed for the FBoUS, and the beginning of the War of 1812; 15 years between the coming on land of Maritime Law and a fomented war of North V South, Brother V Brother beginning, of all places, in the Satanic stronghold of Fort Sumter, South Carolina; the 14th Amendement followed less than 3 years in the wake of this this war which as been recorded as "ending" in 1865; less than 3 years in the wake of same, Rockefeller establishes first "incorporation" - an oil company no less, and within another 30 years Morgan is recognized as the U.S.' first-ever billionaire; within 1 year of the passage of the Fed Reserve Act, the world is enmeshed in it's first-ever "world war", and within another year American babies are beign sent to die in it. fdr makes a good point to end an enumeration of Constitutional usurpers that came long before a W was hatched. For my money, the man does not deserve the ink required to tally the depth of Constitutional gutting that he stood watch over, much of it occuring within the very first week in office.
Since we are now in the early throws of another election season, I will say this much in wasting ink over the carcass of fdr: he was effectively a dead-man walking at the time American "voters" saw him into an unprecedented EDIT: 4th term. To me, this is a fitting backdrop to the present election cycle; our ancestors of voters saw fit to put a dead guy in office during the era when their Constitution - and their country & traditinal ways of life, were being covertly yanked out from underneath them left, right, up, down and sideways by said dead guy. Some times in life, people get what they unknowingly have earned. In this context, Americans by and large are still not yet aware that they lost their Constitution, it has effectively been dead and gone for decades. Many do not know this. On paper, many believe the Consitution is still in effect. Officially, we lost our sovereignty over 70 years ago. fdr was put in place to oversee the formal forclosure of U.S.A. Inc. The fact that most of us have not yete become aware of this reality of history makes for great ongoing theater of deceptions and illusions that is the American world we now live in, especially come "election time".
