Hi muchbetter!
I am seeing conflicting information and wanted to kind of clarify what I am understanding from your statements and what I have read about neurofeedback. At first you said that because you were desperate and felt isolated, due to what you said was MCS, that you went to a psychologist who administered neurofeedback, yet in a later post you said that neurofeedback is not a psychological therapy. From what I read about it, it seems to be used as a phychological therapy based on the theory of the Pavlov's dog experiment where the dog was rewarded for acceptable behavior - whatever behavior was acceptable to the dog or behavior that was acceptable to the scientist performing the experiment. In other words, neurofeedback rewards the person for acceptable behavior in the form of acceptable brainwave patterns - whatever the therapist deems as acceptable or whatever the person receiving the therapy deems is acceptable behavior.
I am concerned that, from what your posts state, and from what I read about neurofeedback, MCS may be considered by some to be "unacceptable behavior" and thereby considered a behavioral disorder - which it is not. From what I read, neurofeedback is like a video game where the person is rewarded when their brainwaves reach an acceptable level - whether the acceptable level is defined by the therapist or by the person receiving the therapy. Some articles expressed that the person is "guided" into a deep meditative altered mental state to achieve the goal. Some articles stated that people were made worse due to neurofeedback and they were permanently neurologically damaged.
Illness and chemical injuries do not occur because of your mental status. Your mental status does not "set you up" for injuries from toxic chemicals and your mental status does not "set you up" for illness. Malaria does not care what your mental status or what your brainwave pattern is. Lyme disease does not care what your mental status is nor what your brainwave pattern is. Chemical fumes do physical damage to the body no matter what your mental status is, no matter what your brainwave pattern is. Radioactive products do damage no matter what your mental status is, no matter what your brainwave pattern is.
Whether these items do damage over time, or whether the damage happens immediately upon exposure depends on the amount, the physical form it is in, and exactly what the product doing the damage is.
Birds cannot be trained not to die from non-stick product coated cookware fumes while someone in the house is cooking in a non-stick product coated pan.
Frogs cannot be trained to not get malformations when they are exposed to chemicals such as those in pesticides and runoff from chemical plants, etc.
Humans cannot be trained to not have their airways burned and scarred from toxic chemical fumes like ammonia, chlorine, etc.
So, logically, just changing or controlling brainwave patterns cannot keep a human being or an animal from having adverse reactions upon exposure to chemicals, biological, radioactive, or nuclear products which are known to cause illness, injury, and death - not even at low levels (which happens to people who have MCS because their bodies are incapable of metabolizing properly - whether due to genetics, damage, overload, etc.) and not even in those who are considered to be physically, spiritually, and mentally balanced. It is physics.
A lot of the products were created to do just that - cause damage, cause death, and cause injury. This is not just a "belief" and has nothing to do with a belief system. Whether or not you "believe" chemicals and NBRs cause injury, death, illness - they still do so - that is a known fact.
The truth is not in just the believing it is in the knowing.
