Here are four comments from Christians to this message.
"Not all that shocking. In fact since we are born 'evil' and have deceitful hearts, we as human beings have no clue what being 'good' is apart from God. Without God we are only likely to do good when it benefits us; self-sacrifice and giving is not in our fallen nature".
"Ah, yes!"
Romans 8
8 "and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
1Corinthians 13
1. "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing."
("Charity" used here means the love of God for humanity; or a love of one's fellow human beings; an act of goodwill or affection, the feeling of goodwill; benevolence, kindness or leniency in judging others; a voluntary giving of money or other help to those in need. In the KJV NT, "charity" is always a translation of the Greek word "agape", a word that suggests unselfish, self-sacrificing concern.)
"If I may add to that list..."
Romans 7:18 "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do."
"No suprise here.
Theists KNOW that they are being watched 24/7 by God himself, while Atheists think
they are alone as long as there are no people present or attentive to their
activities, good or bad, so there is no fear of doing wrong if no one sees it."
"In early America athiest's were not even permitted to be witnesses in a court of law.
Now we have allowed them to be lawyers, judges, governors, etc."
