I have to agree with you here. When I read your post, I thought "Wow, what mature and spiritually advanced people they both must be to let each other be themselves!"

I don't agree that the two when married become one, because what that means is that one partner, almost always the husband, dominates and controls the other. It's not a marriage, but exploitation.
A real marriage is a partnership of equals. I don't know how a woman could let her husband touch her if she was not considered an equal. I think my soul would die a little more every day in a marriage like that.
