Doing EFT and reflexology on a dog is pretty easy. To do EFT I put my thumb and first two fingers together and tap along the dogs spine, on joints and bones. He doesn't mind, seems to enjoy it. For reflexology I go by the pressure points for people, ears, paws instead of hands and feet and along the spine. Just press on the spots that seem sore, with your thumb and rub in a circle. Rub in small circles up and down the spine. Squeeze the ears and paws, watch the dog reaction. If the dog seems in pain when you rub a spot, just rub it a little lighter. For massage I knead up and down the spine, spending more time on the area around hips and shoulders. I also massage the muscles on the rear legs. It is pretty much like you would do a person. To bring heat to an area(gets circlulation going) I rub my hand back and forth really fast on the area. Right after this happened I spent a couple hours a day working on my dog.

Arnica is an anti-inflamitory that works really good on animals. You can get it at the health food store. I have given my rabbit up to three, he weighed about 15 lbs then. It works good on dogs and horses as well. I have taken this as well, and I know from my own back problem MSM reaches the spine. I read in the Health Builder by Rondale, this book is from 1954 that iodine(lugol's) was used to treat meningetis, so maybe adding a drop of Lugol's to your dog's water could help. I have never given Lugol's to my dog, but I have taken MSM and Lugol's with no ill effects. Some folks here are giving their dogs lugol's last I read.

When your dog is ill he need emotional support, spend more time with them. Since they can't do the stuff they love I find a raw marrow bone(soup bone) one way to keep their stress down, I think this is a healing food for dogs. Don't feed your dog onions or lamb, these are bad. Tripe is a really good food for a sick dog, if you can stand the smell of it cooking. In times of illness I feed a small amount of liver every day, a boiled egg goes over good as well.
