Okay..... Where do I start?

Is your source the Bible, the King James Version, another translation, or have you gone into an in depth study of the ancient Hebrew and Greek manuscripts?

I both agree and disagree with the site in question.  I agree 100% with the paragraph on secret societies.  Disney is most certainly a name linked with the Illuminati.  Yet, Disney, C. S. Lewis and countless other "occult" fairy tales have raised our children for decades.  I am guilty of reading these books to my children and grandchilren.  Actually, I am saddened that parents are now too busy to read these stories to their children.  We are losing a valuable tradition and no longer challenge our children's imaginations to dream and be creative.  My point.  These fantasies have not turned myself or my children into devil worshippers.

And as we talk about all the pagan influences in C. S. Lewis material, Harry Potter, Disney, and the world in general, let us also talk about all the pagan material and rituals in our own christian churches.  Oh yes, I am referring to the paganism in our very own born again christian churches.

First of all, Jesus' true teachings have been lost and hacked up beginning with Constantine's seizure and reshaping of christianity.  King James chose what books we were to consider "inspired by God" yet books that would give us further understanding of our biblical history were left out.  Have you read the Book of Enoch?  The Book of Jared?  Why did he decide that we need not be aware of this material?  It surely familiarizes the reader with the character Enoch, other than just Enoch walked with God and was taken up to heaven.

I will venture to say, that we do not hold the truth of what Jesus taught us.  We hold on to a sad remnant of the treasures that he taught while still following pagan practices with a "christian": label attached to it.  We practice nothing but a kindergarten version of what he taught.

Instead of going into a complete dissertation on paganism in our christian churches, I will give you but a couple of examples.

Christmas:  First of all, it is established that Jesus was not born in December.  It is very strange that we celebrate this most sacred of births during the winter solstice when pagans celebrated their solstice feast of Saturnalia.  It is also very curious that we exchange gifts on this occasion, just as the pagans exchanged gifts during Saturnalia.  The wreaths, trees, and decorations used during this season are also of pagan origin.  So are the colors.

Let's go to Easter, the Resurrection.  The word "Easter" is a variation of the word "Ishtar" Goddess of fertility.  As we celebrate Jesus' Resurrection, have a huge dinner, give our children easter baskets with plush bunnies, chocolate bunnies, and color and hide easter eggs for our children to happily find, we are doing nothing else but celebrating the fertility feast of Ishtar.

Paganism is indeed all around us.  How pathetic that we have hacked up the truth that Jesus died for.

I also wish that I could discount all this and say that christians are the kindest loving people in the world.  Actually, many christians have become legalistic following the "Law" just as the Pharasees did.  Compassion is only practiced on Thanksgiving and Christmas.   Jesus said, feed the poor, visit the sick, visit the prisoners.  Always, not just when convenient.

Sadly, I will point out that wiccans practice peace and love much more than your average christian.

Christianity is not a religion.  It is a way of life.  From the spirit and from the heart.  When we say, "forgive all my sins and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior," is this just another ritual or are our lives indeed transformed to be like HIM and to truly spread the gospel of love?

Hugs,
Luella
