It is a bit unfortunate that the mineral support forum is not more active than it is. It is the "foundation"; the "rock" on which to build one's house.
"How about we do some exchange of ideas on how to get started in trying to re-mineralize the body?"
There are already plenty of ideas (in books and on the web too) and forums out there that have attempted to get it right... some come closer to being "right" than others.
The ones that come the closest are those that champion first and foremost, high quality foods grown and raised on soil that has been, and is meticulously cared for, including the soil's very essential and necessary active bacteria and life. Given that today, what may have been once enough dietary minerals, is no longer adequate due to environmental stresses, the next obvious step are those methods that purpose various forms of mineralizing drinks and supplements such as concentrated green foods, sole, edible clays and what not... all need to be used with a bit of common sense and caution as tipping the balance too fast/far in one direction or the other is not good. However, the closer a supplemental drink comes to a "food" the better it will be accepted and utilized by the body.
Things like bone and potassium broths, mineral bathing, digging in the soil and getting ones hands dirty, also add to mineral "supplementation" well.
Next, and for those that may have more emergent need are concentrated food based mineral supplements.
Supplementing with single minerals is expensive and risky in that, IF they are needed and absorbed, it is all too easy to over do it. However, even then, a known gross deficiency may be helped when one knows what they are doing; they do this in hospitals with minerals all the time... Potassium, magnesium, etc. is all used in emergency medicine.
The Mineral forum, Acid Alkaline support and debate forms, Ask Moreless Forum, Ask Barefoot, Ask Andreas, and other forums along with countless posts in most all forums related to health get this idea right for the most part... though some may not understand why they get it right, or why it works, and there is enough debate and confusion to lead one out of, or away from the truth of it.
No need to re-invent the wheel and find a "new" way; the "way" has always existed. I do not think I could do any better than what has already been brought forth and presented by many good posters.
Dig back in the archives and read messages from finallyfaith, Lapis, lifespromise, and others... along with digging through rated posts in the applicable forums... you will strike gold.
I am living proof that this works extremely well. I ran up and down stairs today, when less than 3 years ago I would cry if I had to go either up or down stairs; just one stair... it was that painful... and then I could only navigate them one at a time. Yesterday I was doing flying and jump kicks in MA classes for the first time in 5 years or so with no apparent after effects or soreness as evidenced by my run up and down stairs today...
People can chase and champion single supplements, minerals, or elements, all they want... while they may indeed be desperately needed, and give seemingly miraculous results over the short term, in and of themselves single minerals/elements are not the long term answer for health and/or longevity.
The protocol:
1. Diet. PERIOD. IF ONE IS NOT WILLING TO CHANGE THIS AND SEEK OUT AND/OR GROW/RAISE THE VERY BEST OF IN SEASON FOODS AVAILABLE, NOTHING ELSE WILL MATTER... MUCH; SOME BENEFIT CAN BE HAD WITH ANY ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING THREE, BUT THE BENEFIT WILL BE TO A NOTICEABLY LESSER EXTENT WITH EACH ONE THAT IS OMITTED AND DIET IS FIRST AND FOREMOST.
2. Living life. POSITIVE, GRATEFUL ATTITUDE, EXERCISE, FRESH AIR, SUNSHINE, HARD WORK, HARD PLAY, PHYSICAL/SPIRITUAL/MENTAL BALANCE, ETC.
3. Mineral Baths etc. THESE CAN AND SHOULD BE CUSTOMIZED BASED UPON USER NEED AND CAN INCLUDE SEPARATELY, OR KNOWINGLY COMBINED WITH, MINERAL SALTS, CLAYS, SEAWEEDS, H2O2, HERBS. ETC.
4. Food Based Supplementation. IN THE FORM OF GREEN FOODS, VARIATIONS ON FOOD BASED, MINERAL DENSE DRINKS, WHICH COULD BE IN THE FORM OF HIGH QUALITY FRESH JUICES, AND FOOD BASED SUPPLEMENTS.
Variations on any, and all of these can, and should be tweaked and tailored for a specific individual's needs.
I have stated before that the macrominerals should be balanced first... all the while being focused on microminerals as well; but less concerned with their balancing, leaving that up to the body to decide while providing them to the body through a variety of whole foods. Macromineral balance is rather easy to get a feel for... micromineral balance requires a more delicate feel.
