I have these and they are easy to use and read - much more so than litmus paper. You can test yourself often during the day if you wish. Testing your saliva after eating certain foods will give you an indication of that most recent food's affect on your body. Testing your urine will give you an overall expression of pH and of what's being eliminated from your lymphatic fluids.

When I got started my pH was around 5.5. The values increase logarithmically, so a pH of 6 is ten times more acidic than 7, but a pH of 5 is one hundred times more acidic. So I was about 50 times more acidic.

According to pH Ion, "acidity leads to toxicity, which leads to microform overgrowth (bacteria, pathogens, yeasts, fungi, parasites, etc.), which can eventually lead to illness. Your body cannot detoxify properly when it becomes overly acidic."

In conjunction with any holistic measures you decide to take, you can add this protocol by eliminating all acidifying foods like sugar, coffee, alchohol, and staying with alkalizing foods, fresh raw fruits, vegetables and juices. I went raw vegan and I would encourage that too, since meat is VERY acidifying, but you need to do what feels right for you.

There is also an alkalizing drink recipe on the Ask Moreless forum, plus other information on other ways to raise your pH, including alkalizing baths that are easy to do and don't cost a lot. Or you can Google for other ways to raise pH.

You have nothing to lose by trying this. Consider that cancer cells cannot survive in an alkaline environment. Some believe that no diseases can survive in an alkaline state. Again, this is a complimentary protocol.
