I'm assuming you aren't taking this straight? I remember when I first got some and my husband asked me what it was. I'd never used the stuff before. I smelled it, and it smelled pretty strong. So I put a few drops on my husbands tongue. I have no idea what I was thinking. You should have seen him! He couldn't drink enough stuff to get rid of the taste and pain. Then he pulled out a bottle of vodka and took a swig. I will tell you right now, adding alcohol to Oregano Oil is definitely not a good way to go. It seems that the vodka greatly enhanced the effects (and heat) of the oil. I'm amazed the man ever put some in his OP after that.....
And speaking of OP. I believe that anything you put in the oil sublingually enters the blood system, just like taking any sublingual medication. The EFA's enter the blood system directly too. That is why so many people have so many amazing, quick results with the OP, esp with skin conditions. Pharma uses oleic acid to enhance sublingual pharmaceuticals. So it makes sense that the oil you are swishing will also act as an enhancing agent.
For those of you that are trying to use Oregano for candida, or parasites, I truly believe that bypassing the gastric juices and going straight for the blood is an extremely effective way to take OO (Olive-Oil) internally. And it certainly will do wonderful things for your gums.
Oil Pull with it and I think you will be getting the best results. Of course this is my theory, and I'm sticking to it darn it.
Love and Kisses,
Molly
