So far after 8 replacements this year, I have not had any pain, but I can imagine that it could happen.
In your case you might notice it even more since you went to your regular dentist, though it seems he did everything right. Besides the pain may be the mind is part of it too.

I have a hollistic dentist and the first time she used the dam (I do 2 teeth at one time) but the last 3x I told her not to use it since I felt I was choking and trusted her to be careful. They put the charcoal in my mouth before they start too.
My results up till now is that I feel the same as before the removal, not good or bad, but I have been cleansing my body for the last 4 years. I only started this because I needed several fillings to be replaced.

Hope the pain will disappear soon.
