33Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

34Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?

35Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

- this is classic jurisprudence in this world. you must be guilty of something, otherwise you wouldnt be accused. pilate represents the world in this exchange. this is the worlds concern, ie, are you a threat to my power? beyond that it is a social matter which may be whatever keeps the people happy and does not threaten TPTB.

36Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

-this is a pivitol point in all of creation. jesus is about to be condemned by the secular and religious systems of the world. in other words, neither of them are the least bit interested in god. they have better things to do with their time. jesus makes it clear that he is no threat to pilate(the world) and that in fact the world has no part of what he is doing. the world is simply the backdrop in which he has been operating.

37Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

-the reason he came was to deliver a message. the ones who were meant to get that message would recognize it. it was that simple.

38Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

-what is truth? the truth is that this world condemns others for political expedience, justice having nothing to do with it. the truth is that majority rule can always be counted on to be wrong. the truth is, anyone looking at this world for their understanding is ont he wrong tack. the truth will never be arrived at in that manner. the messege is not to this world, neither is it about this world. looking for a mark or a beast or an antichrist is fundamentally in gross error and will prevent one from seeing the truth.
