Hi, I have "schizophrenia," and your experience sounds a lot like experiences I have had -- hearing voices that are always negative and "whose" values change right along with yours, always coming up with a new way to contradict. Do you have negative symptoms? In psychology, this refers to the Depression and flat emotional state, plus possibly some other symptoms, that generally accompany schizophrenia ("positive symptoms" are hallucinations and delusions). Maybe you already know this, though.
I hope that you are not offended by me mentioning the possibility that you may have schizophrenia. I don't mean to imply that there is not a spiritual cause. I read the book, "Healing States," by Alberto Villoldo, in which he mentions a clinic in Brazil where they view schizophrenia as possession by negative spirits. The patients work with spiritual mediums who channel the negative spirits and attempt to heal them, thus healing the patients. This is the bulk of what the clinic does, anyway. Also, I think that shamans traditionally view schizophrenia as a spiritual crisis and take the person suffering under their wing.
Personally, I definitely view my schizophrenia as part of a spiritual path. I thought it was interesting that you said that you started out by having very positive experiences, because I went through a similar type of thing before I crashed. I think perhaps reaching a state of seeing great beauty can be troublesome if one cannot integrate those experiences, ultimately, with one's beliefs.
I also noticed that you mentioned drugs. Hallucinogens can be one of the causes of a schizophrenia. I did a lot of LSD about four months before I had a psychotic break.
You might want to try shamanic healing. I've done a couple of sessions through "The Four Winds Society," and after each session my auditory hallucinations have decreased in volume some. Maybe you are clairaudient and not schizophrenic, but I've found it very helpful and they probably could help either way. They do telephone consultations or in-person.
In general, there's other stuff that helps for sz. too.
