I know what you mean - it often doesnt look better. I hear that the color you had as a child looks best on people, making the face look softer. Peoples hair usually gets darker with age. I still have hair locks my mom saved when I was little. I dye my hair the same color and everybody compliments me. In the past I tried darker and didnt like it.
