Very pleased to hear that you feel so much better after removal. Just out of interest, in response to your second post in this section, the mirena people do actually supply some info to doctors. However the doctors in my experience, do not pass the information on to us as patients. Some of the side effects i had for example, numbness all down my left side, migraines, were listed as either side effects or under the Warnings section of the mirena literature that one can find on the net, such as the netdoctor site,as listed below, for example. but my severe pain going from my neck all the way down my left arm and threatened stroke was not listed. However, it does say that people with high cholesterol (or anyone who may have a risk of blood clots etc) shouldnt have mirena, and my gyn. knew i had high cholesterol and that i responded badly to the blood thickening pills he had given me before trying mirena, yet he still went ahead and put that thing inside me.
Having said that, mirena needs a lot more testing, particularly into its long term effects. so many women continue to have terrible problems after it is removed and some of them have these effects for a year or more because it appears to have altered their body chemistry in some way. But for the more "normal" common side effects such as weight gain, headaches, Depression and mood swings, Acne etc - these the doctors are informed of, via their prescribing info that they are given, so to me, it seems negligent when they don't tell us of the possibilities! check out these sites to see more info.

anyway, the main thing is that you have mirena out and hopefully your body will regulate itself without needing anything else. my main symptoms also went almost immediately that the iud came out - by that evening, the numbness was gone, and the next morning i had a little tingling in my toes which went by that night. I havent had a migraine since it came out, but the numbness came back in a mild way, for my first period,(it had been mostly cyclical while on mirena) then disappeared forever, i am pleased to say!! Good luck to you, and continued good health:) x
